Daily Book Graphics #675

©1969 / Design: Germano Facetti
I blogged this cover way back at the beginning of my blogging career, before I had even started the Daily Book Graphics project. But that was just a screen grab, I found a real copy at a book sale yesterday. This is a well known cover and a Facetti classic, for me this is the perfect example of what I love about the modern period in cover design. Way back in DBG #16 I posted The Divided Self, the sister cover to the book above.

Daily Book Graphics #669

©1969 / Design Rudolph deHarak / My deHarak Flickr group here. I found this book yesterday at Monkey's Paw which describes itself as "Toronto's most idiosyncratic secondhand bookshop, specializing in uncommon and out-of-print books, ephemera, and images." I highly recommend checking it out if you are in Toronto. They also blog covers on their website.

Cafe Taza Birthday

I posted about my identity design for Cafe Taza in Buffalo back on January 26th. Taza is having a 5th birthday party on February 25th. These are the handbills I designed for the event.

Montague Projects' Blog Archive

This is where I'm keeping the books that appear on the blog. We just acquired some old Kartell plastic shelves which are an improvement on the color coded stacking I was doing before.

Daily Book Graphics #652

The © dates on these books are 1952 and 1949, but I think these editions are probably from a later printing. I hope that there are more Rinehart Editions along theses lines.

Daily Book Graphics #651

©1968 / ©1967 / ©1972 / I just made a Flickr set of the seven books I have from the World University Library series, they have a very under-designed look that I kind of like.

I just got back from a book sale where it was $5 per bag. I spent $15 and got 80 blogworthy books, including a lot of religious ones like the one above.
