Daily Book Graphics #900

©1979 / Designer: Cynthia Bassett / There is a note about the cover in the book that reads: Cover: The new symbol of Wadsworth's Lifetime Series in Aging is a stylized version of the uroborous, a universal symbol for regeneration and rebirth.

Buffalo on the Bowery Auction Tonight!

I'm the curator for an auction benefitting PUSH Buffalo (People United for Sustainable Housing) and Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center that takes place at Charles Bank gallery (196 Bowery) tonight at 6. The auction features (with a few exceptions) artists that are from Buffalo or live in Buffalo. I think it is a good group of work, and if you are an art buying type in the NYC area you should come. I will be auctioning off four of my faux books. You can see the auction lots and get more information here: (I designed the identity and website for the auction.)

Montague Projects on 50 Watts

50 Watts (formerly A Journey Around My Skull) is the best book blog out there, they regularly post incredibly strange, beautiful and obscure illustrations and covers. I'm honored that 50 Watts has taken an interest in what I do and posted selections of my faux covers more than once. A new post went up this week. Welcome to any readers that might have found their way here from 50 Watts.

New Faux Titles

Before I get back to real book blogging, here are a few more of my recent faux titles from the Secondary Occupants project, I showed in these in L.A.

Still in L.A.

The art fair did not got too well, attendance and sales were very low. The conventional wisdom is that Los Angeles doesn't support art fairs and that seems to be true. I'm out here a couple of more days just to look around, it has been a lot of fun. I took the above pictures with a Lumix GF2 with using a "toy" lens.

Montague Projects at Pulse L.A.

Sorry for the blog silence, this last week was a mad rush to finish multiple projects and get myself to L.A., which is where I am now. I'm at the Pulse L.A. art fair with Black & White Gallery. I'm showing new books and posters from the Secondary Occupants project, a few of them are in this post, you can see the rest on Flickr. I'll be back to Daily Book Graphics posts next week.
