Recent Work: Buffalo 66 Screening Posters

Three versions of a poster I designed for the North Park Theatre's screening of Vincent Gallo's Buffalo 66 on April 2nd. The film had its world premiere in Buffalo at the North Park in 1998. The posters will be available for $10 apiece the night of the screening.

Kingdom of the Spiders

A little while a ago a friend gave me the DVD of William Shatner's 1977 movie Kingdom of the Spiders (my interest in spiders here.) I finally got around to watching it last night. I can't say it's a great movie, (actually pretty anti-climactic) but it does have a lot of classic Shatner overacting. The original poster for the film is amazing, I think I need to own it.

McGovern 72

Readers who have been following this blog for a while, know that I have been mining my family's collection of poorly stored and archived posters from the 1970's, blog posts here and here, Flickr set here. The above McGovern posters are student made screen prints, they aren't very good but they are interesting as documents of the visual culture of 1972. They seem pretty basic compared to last year's torrent of Obama related art and design. My father was an art history professor at the time, and was probably given these by a student. He's in the poster below.

A Poster Link

A friend tipped me off to terry-posters.com. The site has huge variety of European (and other) film posters. The navigation is a little frustrating, but it's worth it.
