I spent the early part of the morning creeping around Tifft Nature Preserve trying to take pictures of birds for my Bird Photography (Attempts) project. I photographed some non-birds too.
This snake may have been in trouble. Its eyes looked fogged over and it didn't seem to be able to see anything. I didn't see any forked tongue action either.

i think that snake was getting ready to shed its skin. (fogged over eyes are an indicator of that, if i remember correctly)
