Grenadine

I recently designed a book cover for Yale University Press. It's for my friend Neil Wechsler's play Grenadine. Grenadine won the Edward Albee judged Yale Drama Series Prize for Emerging Playwrights last year (I posted about that here). I'm glad that they decided to use my work. A dachshund with wheels is an important character/element in the play, and as a cover image it helps set the tone of the work. The book is not out yet but it is available for pre-order on the Yale University Press website.

Congrats on Blog of Note honor. I don't know what Grenadine is about, but I love the book cover you designed. I've seen a number of dogs with their little carts, and it expresses so much about these animals and their owners ... mostly love. I always feel a little happy and a little sad when I see this; the same emotions your cover evoked. Wonderful blog.

Awesome, I'll have to pick up the book once it hits the shelves :)

this is a great design. It reminds me of an image somewhere stored in the recesses of my mind. May find it at 2 am! Perhaps it is just the story of the dog, whose hindquarters are supported by wheels. Very good...

The cover easily grabs my attention. If I saw it on a store shelf, I'd pick it up to find out what it was about. Good job.
